Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Program
Founded in 1991 at the NBMBAA’s® 13th Annual Conference and Exposition in New York, the Leaders of Tomorrow Program (LOT)® is an academic enrichment and leadership program serving high school students who demonstrate leadership potential. LOT students are provided with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and become better students through mentoring, cultural exposure, educational experiences and curriculum that is designed to help them become successful professionals.
· The LOT Program currently serves approximately
700 young adults, ages 14 – 18
· Over $200,000 in scholarships have been awarded at the national level with thousands of additional scholarship dollars granted by local chapters
· There are 32 LOT Chapters throughout the United States and Canada, and a contingency in London
· Over 1,800 students have attended the NBMBAA Annual Conference & Exposition
· The students have been exposed to over 12,000 business professionals in a series of dynamic workshops, keynote luncheons and various informal networking sessions
Programming includes:
· LOT Case Competition is designed to improve students’ analytical and presentation skills; increase interaction with other students in LOT Programs across the country.
· LOT National Conference is a part of the National Black MBA Association Annual Conference and affords students the opportunity to network with leading business professionals; students participate in workshops, keynote conference lunches, and tours of local colleges and historical sites.
LOT Scholarships – LOT students are eligible for a variety of scholarships from the National and local chapters. The awards range from $500 - $1,500.
The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) LOT program is for high school students who show promise, drive and ambition. LOT students are provided the opportunity to develop leadership and life skills through interaction with caring and successful business professionals. The 2010-2011 program sessions will be held on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 12 pm starting in September and ending in June. A schedule of the session topics and locations will be provided to each student upon his/her acceptance to the program.

Scholarship Programs
The National Black MBA Association’s goal is to build a solid pipeline of support through which young people and our members can travel from the classroom to the boardroom. The organization provides more than $500,000 dollars annually in scholarships to undergraduates, graduates and doctoral students pursuing careers in business. The program's mission is to identify and increase the pool of Black talent for business, public, private and non-profit sectors.
NBMBAA Scholarships
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The NBMBAA National Undergraduate Scholarship Program disburses $1,000 to undergraduate minority business candidates identified through our local chapters. Recipients are selected based upon their written response to an essay topic, level of extra-curricular activity and community involvement, grade point average and interview score. Awardees are honored in the conference edition of the Black MBA Magazine. To participate in our undergraduate scholarship program, please click here to locate a chapter near you. MBA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The NBMBAA National MBA Scholarship Program awards scholarships to the top 25 candidates identified through our annual essay competition. Recipients are selected based upon their written response to an essay topic, most recent grade point average, verbal communication skills, and level of extra-curricular activities and community involvement. The scholarship package includes monetary awards, travel, accommodations and registration to our annual Conference, scholarships from $2,500 to $15,000.
PhD FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The NBMBAA National PhD Fellowship Program awards two fellowships annually to qualified individuals identified through our application process. Recipients are selected based upon their written response to a research topic, most recent grade point average, verbal communication skills, and level of extra-curricular activities and community involvement. The fellowship package includes monetary awards, travel, accommodations and registration to our annual Conference. The fellowship amounts range from $5,000 to 15,000.

Freshman Entergy Scholars Scholarship Application
School of Accountancy and Department of Finance
Criteria
A student applying for the Freshman Entergy Scholars Scholarship must meet
the following criteria:
1. THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS ONLY OPEN TO FIRST TIME FRESHMEN ENTERING SOUTHERN
UNIVERSITY AND A&M COLLEGE-BATON ROUGE CAMPUS, FOR THE FALL 2010/SPRING 2011
ACADEMIC YEAR.
2. Student must be from an Entergy Service area in Arkansas, Louisiana,
Mississippi or Texas.
3. Student must possess a High School Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a
4.0 scale.
4. Student must have a cumulative minimum ACT score of 25 or equivalent SAT
score.
5. Student must declare a major in Accounting and/or Finance
6. Student should be proficient with computer technology and have good
problem solving skills.
7. Student must write a short essay (500-750 words max-double space) on the
following topic: ³Why I want to major in Accounting or Finance?²
8. Scholarship is renewable contingent upon being accepted, by Southern
University Baton Rouge, for the following Fall/Spring Semester, maintaining
a cumulative 3.0 G.P.A. in the declared major of Accounting and/or Finance.
9. Student must be involved in extracurricular activities, such as sports,
band, honor society, class representative and/or community activities that
demonstrate a wide variety of interest and commitment to making a
difference.
10. Support/advocate Entergy sponsored events and activities on campus.

National Black MBA - 2009 Scholarship Recipients
Ryan Cobbs
Ryan Cobbs is a freshman studying Business Management at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He currently resides in the suburbs of Chicago and attended high school at Lake Forest Academy. Throughout high school, Ryan was a Varsity athlete in Cross Country, Swim Team, and Track. Ryan studied abroad for his junior year in high school in Zaragoza, Spain. Ryan’s year abroad was by far the greatest experience of his life and it allowed him to be immersed in the Spanish culture, become fluent in the Spanish language, and it also created a bond with his Spanish host family, professors, and classmates.
Sondra Willis
Sondra Willis is a native of Kenner, Louisiana, and is a junior at Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a Business Management major. After graduation, Sondra plans to attend law school, and later practice Corporate Law. Sondra’s extracurricular activities include being Vice President of Business Achievers Association, Youth Assistant at her church, and a Teacher’s Assistant at Cross Roads Dance Academy.
