Committees
- Economic Development:
The Economic Development committee shall establish and maintain a presence for the chapter in the community with a primary focus on education. The committee will promote participation in events that support the African –American community by providing economic gains or the establishment of a new affiliate relationship. The committee will also prepare seminars and educational workshops geared to advance the knowledge and stimulate the intellect of our members, students, and local community.

- Community Relations Committee:
The Community Relations committee shall establish and maintain presence of the chapter in the local community by coordinating the participation and co-sponsorship of events that will help to increase community awareness of the chapters’ existence. The primary focus of this committee is to partner with events that help develop programs geared to enhance the value of the African-American community in business and in life.

- 2009 Conference Planning Committee:
The 2009 Conference committee will meet to explore innovative ideas focused on planning activities associated with the NBMBAA 2009 Conference to be hosted in New Orleans September 22-26, 2009.The committee will outline the events occurring during the convention as well as plan the events that will occur prior to the convention this year. These events will include but are not limited to a golfing event, social outings, development of volunteer networks, etc.

- Student Relations:
The Student Relations committee shall act as a liaison between the local academic community and the chapter. The committee will facilitate conversations between the local colleges and universities to the NBMBAA and disseminate information regarding the approval process for new collegiate associations. The committee will also develop student campaigns and coordinate student involvement in chapter activities.

- Public Relations, Publicity and Marketing:
The Public Relations committee will be responsible for handling any publicity or public relations events that involve the local chapter. They will also be responsible for working with any/all of the other committees in the preparation and release of any media or publicity needed in the area of marketing or promotions. This committee will inform the CEB of timelines involved and the appropriate level of marketing needed to provide community awareness of the chapters’ involvement.

- Leaders of Tomorrow:
The Leaders of Tomorrow committee is in charge of facilitating the program according to the guidelines set forth by the NBMBAA. The committee is responsible for coordinating program events in conjunction with the requirements from national in our local area. These events are geared to provide local youths with the opportunity to obtain leadership training, and other forms of social and professional development.

- Social Committee:
The Primary focus of the Social committee is to develop and plan evens that will enhance the social values of the members in our chapter. This committee will be responsible for the planning and implementations of all social events sponsored by or in conjunction with our chapter or National affiliate on a local level.

- Membership Committee:
The purpose of the membership committee is to obtain, maintain, and increase membership to attain the chapter’s goals. The committee members will assist in membership drives including but not limited to recruitment, activities, and communication.

- Fund Development/Fund Raising:
The Fund Development committee provides the chapter with the means and mechanism to foster a relationship with potential corporate partners and affiliate organizations. This committee will forge and establish alliances with local and national corporations interested in the development of unique partnerships. The committee would also to introduce members and students to the corporate affiliates and neighboring organizations by way of activities and employment/entrepreneurial opportunities.

- Scholarship Committee:
The Scholarship committee will be responsible for the overseeing the application process and selection of the scholarship recipients. The committee will develop the guidelines for submission in accordance to the NBMBAA requirements. The committee will also provide a schedule for submission and plan an awards banquet.
